As the 38th The Bodrum Cup nears its finale, the racing excitement continues with the OPET Leg on the Ortakent-Yalıkavak route. In an event featuring 90 boats and nearly 1,000 sailors, the teams began their fierce competition on the 15-nautical-mile course following the start on Friday, October 23. The teams, competing to rank in their respective categories, will reach Yalıkavak at the end of the fourth day.
Starting with the SumOne Leg off the coast of Bodrum, the teams reached Knidos with the Ruins Luxury Resort Leg and Ortakent with the Yalıkavak Marina Leg. The fourth race of the five-leg, 79-nautical-mile route bears the name of the event's main sponsor, OPET.
OPET Sustainability and Corporate Communications Leader Gül Altan Yeltik"As the main sponsor of The Bodrum Cup, we are incredibly proud to share the excitement of this deep-rooted organization for eight years. With our belief in the unifying power of sports, we prioritize supporting organizations that keep our country's natural and cultural values alive and bring different generations together through a shared passion. The excitement grew even further for us with the start of the OPET Leg, which bears our name, at this year's The Bodrum Cup, featuring 90 boats and nearly 1,000 sailors. We believe that the determination, solidarity, and team spirit displayed by the competitors on the 15-nautical-mile course from Ortakent to Yalıkavak will once again highlight the most powerful values of sports. We are happy to be a part of this valuable organization, which contributes to the preservation of our maritime culture, the international promotion of Bodrum, and the social and economic life of the region. I wish success to all athletes competing in the OPET Leg and hope for an enjoyable and unforgettable race for all teams as we approach the final day," she said.
