The second day of the 38th The Bodrum Cup, held from October 19-24, began with the Ruins Luxury Resort Leg on the Bodrum-Knidos route. Following the start on Wednesday, October 21, teams set sail on the 20-nautical-mile course to compete for rankings in their respective categories. In an event featuring 90 boats and approximately 1,000 sailors, the fleet will reach Knidos on the second day of the race, which began off the coast of Bodrum.
The competition at sea, which kicked off on the first day with the 12-mile SumOne Leg on the Bodrum-Bodrum route, extended from Bodrum to Knidos on the second day. In a race consisting of five legs totaling 79 nautical miles, the teams will compete in the 20-mile Yalıkavak Marina Leg on the Knidos-Ortakent route on Thursday, October 22, following the Ruins Luxury Resort Leg.
Knidos, which has been included in The Bodrum Cup route again after a long hiatus, has become one of the highlights of the race week this year. Following the leg that brings together Bodrum’s traditional wooden boats and sailboats competing in various categories, participants will have the opportunity to visit the Ancient City of Knidos.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Bodrum Ship is at the heart of the 38th The Bodrum Cup. The maintenance and renovation project of the sailing school ship, which was born out of The Bodrum Cup and brings young people together with maritime activities under the Bodrum and Caria Region Culture, Art and Promotion Foundation (BOSAV), is being carried out with the contributions of institutions and the maritime industry. Following the work currently underway at Ağanlar Shipyard, the goal is for the ship to soon return to its role in maritime training, international projects, and cultural-artistic events.
Race week concludes on October 24
The fleet, which will reach Yalıkavak after Knidos and Ortakent, will compete in the final leg on Saturday, October 24. The 38th The Bodrum Cup will conclude that same evening with an awards ceremony and a Pinhâni concert at Yalıkavak Marina. Dr. Şahin Ünal’s “The Bodrum Cup Special” oil painting exhibition will also be open to visitors at the Race Center in Bodrum Municipality Square from October 19-24.
