SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

INTRODUCTION

The Bodrum Cup is an annual yacht regatta organized by
Era Bodrum Sailing Club.
The primary intention is to promote interest and skill in sailing among the captains and crews of Bodrum's charter fleet of boats built by the traditional solid-planking-on-frames method typical in this classification are local gulets, tirhandils and flat stern (aynakiç) boats.
Additionally, the yachts that are not in these categories, such as the ones of less displacement from their peers, constructed aiming at participating races and cruising in high speeds and the ones that are built by high technology and materials for racing and speeding may also take part in The Bodrum Cup in relevant categories.
Yachts of wooden construction and built of other materials are welcome to participate in other classes as defined further in these instructions.

PART 1-RACE ORGANIZATION, CATEGORIES, RACE SIGNALS, RULES, PRIZES

1. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY

The Bodrum Cup International Wooden Yacht Regatta is an annual regatta organized by Era Bodrum Sailing Club, and a race which takes place in the annual activity program of Turkish Sailing Federation. The organizing autho- rity;

1.1 shall publish a Notification of Event,
1.2 to enter the regatta, the yacht shall comply with the requirements of the organizing authority,
1.3 may reject or cancel the entry of a yacht or exclude a competitor,
1.4 may add sub-committees if necessary,
1.5 shall appoint the race committee.

2. RACE COMMITTEE

The race committee is appointed by the organizing authority. The race committee;

2.1 shall conduct races as directed by the organizing authority as required by the rules.
2.2 is responsible for appointing a protest committee to conduct hearing.
2.3 shall publish written sailing instructions.
2.4 changes to the sailing instructions shall be in writing and verbal. These changes shall be announced the latest 15 minutes before the first warning signal by VHF channel 09. These announcements shall be considered as “received by boats”.
2.5 shall publish the race results,
2.6 shall calculate the scores according to rule 21.

3. PROTEST COMMITTEE

The race committee appoints a protest committee between its members to hear
protests and request for redresses. The decision of the protest committee is
final and not appealable.

4. RACE SECRETARIAT

The race secretariat is located in Era Bodrum Sailing Club until the first day of the regatta (Neyzen Tevfik Street, no: 120/2 Bodrum), and will be established in the race committee start boat from then on.

5. RULES

The Bodrum Cup regatta will be governed by the following rules;

5.1 The Notification of Event,
5.2 The Sailing Instructions and its Appendices,
5.3 Special Racing Rules of Bodrum Cup International Wooden Yacht Regatta (SRBC),
5.4 The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCAS);
5.5 Any other documents that govern the event
5.6 In case of a conflict among the above, the latest publish will prevail

6. RACE CLASSES AND CATEGORIES

6.1. Races will be made in the below mentioned classes and categories.

a) Traditional wooden sailing yachts: Wooden yachts of traditional design of heavy displacement built with solid-planking-on-frames and intended primarily for cruising purposes.

Bodrum Cup Mega: Loaded Waterlıne Length (LWL) 21m and over
Bodrum Cup Traditional: Loaded Waterline Length (LWL) 20,99 m and below
Bodrum Cup Tirhandil: All Tırhandil yachts

b) Performance Racer wooden yachts: Wooden sailing yachts of non-traditional, contemporary design and construction, including hulls made of marine plywood and other light construction materials, specifically for racing purposes.

c) Guest yachts: All yachts of non-wooden construction that wish to participate in the regatta.

6.2. All the yachts in the above mentioned classes and categories will continuously carry the class/ category flags, race numbers and race flags which are provided by the organization committee and will be available at the race secretariat.

7. DETERMINATION OF CATEGORIES / UNIFICATION and/or CANCELLATION

Although yachts shall be assigned to classes/categories in accordance with the declaration on the entry form, the organizing committee shall have the right to assign and re-assign the yachts to other classes/categories, to combine or to eliminate classes and/or categories. The decision of the organizing committee is final.

8. REGISTRATIONS AND NUMERAL PANELS

8.1. Eligible yacht owners or their skippers shall register by completing registration with the organizing authority, Era Bodrum Sailing Club, no later than 17:00 hrs. (2 days before the first race).

8.2. Participants should pay the entry fee before the registration.

8.3. Registrations until 12:00 hrs of the day before the first race will be accepted upon payment of double entry fee.

8.4. The organizing committee shall provide 2 (two) numeral panels for each yacht. These panels shall be attached to the port and starboard shrouds and be carried visible externally during the regatta.

8.5. ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION ON THE ENTRY FORM

The information on the entry form, filled in by the yacht owner or skipper, will be considered as true. Classification and categorization will be made according to this information. At the end of each race, some yachts may be inspected (especially the prize winning yachts) by the race committee and in case of a conflict between the inspector and the information on the entry form; the yacht shall be disqualified without a hearing.

9. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

9.1. Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. Era Bodrum Sailing Club, its representatives, members of the organization and race committees and sponsors shall not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.

9.2. RESPONSIBILITIES OF YACHT OWNERS

a) Yacht owners and/or their designated representatives are responsible for safety at sea, seaworthiness of the yacht, and compliance with sailing instructions and applicable rules and decisions to start or to abandon the race.

b) By participating in the regatta they waive their rights to outside judicial recourse in case of penalties imposed under the rules of this regatta.

c) Assuming these responsibilities, they draw attention of their crew before the start of every race.

d) They claim that they assume all these responsibilities by signing the entry form.

10. MEASUREMENTS AND INSPECTIONS

The race committee may, at any time, before, during or after the race, measure or inspect the yachts to verify compliance with the rules. All necessities should be provided for race committee members.

11. DECLARATION

Every yacht has to identify herself (by indicating her name and race number) to the finish boat on VHF channel 09, when crossing the finish line. The yachts that could not be identified by the finish boat will be recorded as Did Not Finish (DNF).

12. PROTESTS

Special Rules of Bodrum Cup International Wooden Yacht Regatta (SRBC), rule shall be applied.

13. RETIREMENT FROM THE RACE

If a yacht is retired from the race, she will lower the class / category flags given, and will notify the race committee on the VHF channel 09, at her first convenience.

14. RADIO COMMUNICATIONS

The regatta channel is VHF channel 09. It is mandatory to have VHF. Proper radio procedures must be observed. All announcements will be made on this channel; failure to hear will not be grounds for protest.

15. LIMITATIONS ON CREW

Minimum number of crew will be three. No upper limit required.

16. PUBLICITY/ADVERTISEMENTS ON YACHTS:

All the advertisements on the yacht’s sails, broadsides and masts or other places require permission from the organization committee and are subject to fees. Advertisements of the companies which run activities in the same field of main sponsor are definitely unacceptable. Yachts which do not declare their advertisements beforehand and pay their fees will be disqualified from the race and can not take place in any activity of the Bodrum Cup, even as spectators.

17. COMMITTEE BOATS

17.1. Committee boats will be placed at the start and the finish lines, and turning points if required and make the necessary controls during the race, moving along the fleet. Race committee’s controls concerning the direction of the race will be maintained from the committee boat that is assigned at the start line.

17.2. The race committee yachts assigned for start and finish will be carrying ORANGE, other yachts of the race committee will be carrying the R (Romeo) code flag.

17.3. Absence of this flag will not be grounds for protest.

17.4. Race committee boats assigned on the start and the finish lines may hold their positions by the power of engine.

17.5. All the yachts in the organization and race committee will try not to interfere with the racing boats.

BODRUM CUP INTERNATIONAL WOODEN YACHT REGATTA

SPECIAL RACING RULES

THIS EVENT SHALL BE CONDUCTED BY THESE RULES. COMPETITORS SHALL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES.

SPORTSMANSHIP AND RULES
Competitors in the sport of sailing are governed by a body of rules that they are expected to follow and enforce. A fundamental principle of sportsmanship is that when competitors break a rule they will promptly take a penalty or accept the penalty or retire.

PART 1- FUNDAMENTAL RULES

1.FAIR SAILING AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
A yacht and her owner shall compete in compliance with recognized principles of sportsmanship and fair play. A disqualification under this rule shall not be excluded from yacht’s series score.

2. LIFE SAVING EQUIPMENT AND PERSONAL BUOYANCY – A yacht shall carry edequate life saving equipment for all person on board. Each competitor is individually responsible for wearing personal buoyancy edequate for the conditions. When the race committee requires the competitors to wear the life-jackets, she will display Code Flag “Y” (Yankee) with one sound signal before the first warning signal.

3. HELPING THOSE IN DANGER– A yacht or competitor shall give all possible help to any person or yacht in danger.

4.DECISION TO RACE – The responsibility for a yacht’s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone.

 

PART-2 ORGANISATION AND CONDUCT
OF A RACE

SECTION 1

5. NOTIFICATION OF EVENT

Organization authority shall publish the notification of the event. This notification will include the name of the event, venue, dates, schedule, classes, categories, entry procedures, and all necessary information related to the notification.

6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS AND APPENDIXES

6.1 Sailing Instruction and Appendixes will include starting and finishing lines, marks, flags, special insignias (if necessary), starting and finishing times, starting order (if necessary), courses, inspection or measurement procedure (if necessary), current and all information related to the races.
6.2 Appendixes will be announced in writing or verbal (by using VHF channel 09) due to the condition of this event. Before publishing this appendix, the race committee may co-ordinate with the organizing authority if necessary.

6.3 Race committee has the right to change the starting line, course and finishing line which was published before in case of unexpected weather condition (lack of wing or strong wind etc), if so decides. This will not be grounds for protest.
In this case, the race committee will try to announce this changes by 21.00 hrs on the day before it will take effect or the latest by 15 minutes before the warning signal on the day it will take effect.
SECTION 2 CONDUCT A RACE

7. GENERAL

Race committee, shall conduct the races by using visual and sound signals, complying with Bodrum Cup International Wooden Yacht Regatta Special Racing Rules, Sailing Instruction and Appendixes. The visual signals are shown in Part 5.

Race committee may announce these visuals signals when used by VHF.

8. STARTING PROCEDURE

8.1 Starting area and line will be described in the Appendix attached to the Sailing Instructions.

8.2 Races shall be started by using the visual and sound signals from the race committee signal boat at the starting line. Visual and sound signals are shown in Part 5.

8.2.1 FIRST WARNING SIGNAL-15 minutes before the start, the race committee shall display a RED FLAG with three sound signals.

8.2.2 SECOND WARNING SIGNAL-10 minutes before the start, the race committee shall display a GREEN FLAG with two sound signals. Red Flag will be removed.

8.2.3 PREPARATORY SIGNAL-5 minutes before the start, the race committee shall display the international cod flag ''P'' (Papa) with one sound signal. Green Flag will be removed.

At this stage all yachts are required to stop their engines.

8.2.4 STARTING SIGNAL-The start will be given by lowering cod flag “P” accompanied by one sound signal.

8.3 START- A yacht starts when, having been entirely on the pre-start side of the starting line at or after her starting signal, any part of her hull, crew or equipment crosses the starting line in the direction of the course.

8.4 Any yacht that does not cross the starting line within 30 (thirty) minutes after the starting signal, she shall be scored as ''Did Not Start'' (DNS) for this race.

9. RECALLS

a.INDIVIDUAL RECALL When at a yacht’s starting signal any part of her hull, crew or equipment is on the course side of the starting line, the race committee boat shall promptly display FLAG X and try to announce the name or number of the yachts to be observed as OCS (on the course side). This flag shall be displayed until such yachts are completely on the pre-start side of the starting line or its extensions, but not later than 30 minutes.

b.GENERAL RECALL When at the starting signal the race committee is unable to identify yachts that are on the course side of the starting line or there has been an error in the starting procedure, the race committee may signal a GENERAL RECALL (display the first substitute with two sounds). The first warning signal for a new start shall be made ONE MINUTE after the first substitute is removed (one sound).

10. SAILING THE COURSE, PROPER COURSE and SHORTENING THE COURSE

10.1 SAILING THE COURSE, a yacht shall start, leave each course point (these will be defined in the sailing instruction) on the required side in the correct order and finish.

10.2 PROPER COURSE, A course a yacht would sail to finish as soon as possible in the absence of the other yachts referred to in the rule using the term. A yacht has no proper course before her starting signal.

10.3. SHORTENING THE COURSE, If the race committee decides that the relevant condition is not suitable to finish the race within the time limit, or for security or another reason, the race committee may;

a. decide to apply shortened course by displaying the code flag “S” (Sierra) with two sound signals at least 15 minutes before the starting time, or

b. also shorten the course when racing. In this case the RC finish boat will be placed at the required side of an exact point on the course and establish the finish line by displaying code Flag “S” and BLUE flag.

These decisions will be announced to all participating yachts by VHF chanel 09.

11. POSTPONE THE RACE

11.1 A race may be postponed according to the decision of the race committee.

11.2 The yachts are not entitle to require to postpone the race.

11.3 if the race committee decides to postpone the race she will display “AP” (Answering Pennant) with two sound signals. New starting procedure will begin one minute after this flag is lowered.

11.4 if the race committee decides to postpone the race to the later day she will display “AP” and Code Flag “A” (Alfa) together with two sounds.

12. ABANDON THE RACE

A race that the race committee or protest committee abandons is void but may be resailed.

12.1 After the starting signal, the race committee may abandon the race by displaying cod flag “N” (November) with three sound signals. The new starting procedures will begin one minute later after the flag is lowered.

12.2 If the race committee displays flags “N” and “A” together this will mean
“the race is abandoned, no more race today”.

12.3 The reasons of abandoning the race;

a) Because of an error in the starting procedure,
b) Because of foul weather,
c) Because of insufficient wind making it unlikely that any boat will finish within the time limit,
d) Because a mark is missing or out of position or,
e) For any other reason directly effecting the safety or fairness of the competition.

13. THE RACES TO BE RESAILED

If a race is resailed,

a. all the yachts registered before are entitled to participate in this race.
b. Rule infringements which were happened in the original race are cancelled.

14. MARK MISSING If a course mark is missed or out of position, the race committee shall, if possible;

a- replace it in its correct position or substitute a new one of similar appearance, or
b- substitute a boat displaying flag M and make repetitive sound signals.

15. FINISH AND EXTENSION OF THE FINISHING TIME LIMIT

15.1 Finish area and line will be described in the Appendix attached to the Sailing Instructions.

15.2 The finishing boat at the finishing line will be displaying a “BLUE FLAG”.

15.3 A yacht finishes when any part of her hull or crew or equipment in normal position, crosses the finishing line in the direction of the course from the last mark.

15.4 The yachts are very close to the finishing line (when they are about to finish-not before) must identify themselves saying their name and race numbers by using VHF channel 09. The yachts failing to do so may be scored as not finish (DNF-Did Not Finish).

15.5 The race committee will use wristle for the yachts finished.

15.6 The yachts which finished shall not cross the line one more time in any direction.

15.7 When the finishing time limit ends, the BLUE FLAG on the finishing boat will be lowered with two sounds which indicates that the race is over.

15.8 When the finishing line is closed, all the yachts which have not finished will be scored as DID NOT FINISH-DNF.

15.9 If the race committee evaluates that it is not possible to finish the race within the time limit she may extend this limit up to a reasonable time. The yachts are not entitled to claim about this decision. If the race committee decides to extend the finishing time limit, she will announce this decision within the two hours after the starting time by VHF.

16. PROTESTS
16.1 Protests, if any, will be notified to the subject yacht (by VHF) at the earliest convenience after the incident and to the Race Committee Finish Boat when crossing the finish line.

16.2 The protest shall be written on the official protest form (available at the secretariat) at the start boat not later than two hours after the end of the race.

16.3. The protest form shall be filled in by the owner or responsible person on the yacht will contain all details including time, place, rule broken, position of yachts and names of witnesses. At the protest hearing, only the yacht owner or his representative can represent the yacht.

16.4. A protest fee of 50 US$, as determined by the organizing committee will be deposited at the time of submission. This fee will be forfeited to the organizing committee if this protest claim is rejected.

16.5. A yacht intending to protest shall inform the other yacht at the first reasonable opportunity by hailing “PROTEST” using VHF Channel 09. This yacht shall also inform the Race Committee boat at the finishing line about her protest saying the name or number of the protested yacht when finishing.

16.6. Yachts that have a reason to believe that their finishing positions have been improperly recorded, without any fault of their own, may request that the race committee review their cases. Such requests for review of the finishing positions shall not require the payment of protest deposits.

16.7. Decisions of the protest committee are final and not subject to appeal.

PART -3 WHEN BOATS MEET

These rules apply between yachts that are sailing in or near the racing area and intend to race, are racing or have been racing. When a yacht sailing under these rules meets a vessel that is not, she shall comply with the International Regulations for Preventing Collusions at Sea (IRPCAS) or government right-of-way rules.

17. RIGHT OF WAY – A yacht has right of way when another yacht is required to keep clear of her.

a. ON OPPOSITE TACKS – When yachts are on opposite tacks, a port tack yacht shall keep clear of a starboard tack yacht.
b. ON THE SAME TACK, OVERLAPPED – When yachts are on the same tack and overlapped, a windward yacht shall keep clear of a leeward yacht.
c. ON THE SAME TACK, NOT OVERLAPPED - When yachts are on the same tack and not overlapped, a yacht clear astern shall keep clear of a yacht clear ahead.
d. WHILE TACKING – After a yacht passes head to wind, she shall keep clear of other yachts until she is on a close-hauled course. If two yachts are subject to this rule at the same time, the one on the other’s port side shall keep clear.

e. GENERAL LIMITATIONS

AVOIDING CONTACT – Every yacht shall pay attention to avoid contact. The right-of-way yacht shall not be penalized unless there is contact that causes damage.

ACQUIRING RIGHT OF WAY – When a yacht acquires right of way, she shall initially give the other yacht room to keep clear.

CHANGING COURSE – When a right of way yacht changes course, she shall give the other yacht room to keep clear.

TOUCHING A MARK – After preparatory signal, a yacht shall not touch a starting mark, a mark that begins, bounds or ends the leg of the course on which she is sailing or a finishing mark after finishing. Starting and finishing committee boats are considered as a mark.

f. ROUNDING AND PASSING MARKS AND OBSTRUCTIONS

Room is room for inside yacht to round or pass between an outside yacht and a mark or obstruction, including room to tack or gybe when either is a normal part of the manoeuvre.

When yachts are within the three yachts length distance from the mark or obstruction the inside yacht has right of way to round or pass it. Outside yacht shall keep clear.

g. STARTING ERRORS, MOVING ASTERN

A yacht sailing towards the pre-start side of the starting line or its extensions shall keep clear of a yacht not doing so until she is completely on the pre-start side.

A yacht moving astern shall keep clear of one that is not.

h. Room- The space a yacht needs in the existing conditions while manoeuvring promptly in a seamanlike way.

i. Obstruction- An object that a yacht could not pass without changing course substantially, if she were sailing directly towards to it and one of her hull lengths from it.

PART - 4 OTHER REQUIREMENTS WHEN RACING, PENALTIES, SCORING AND PRIZES

18. The owner of the registered yachts shall inform the race committee as soon as possible if they don’t participate in the race or retire.

19. PROHIBITED ACTIONS

A BOAT SHALL COMPETE BY USING ONLY THE WIND AND WATER TO INCREASE, MAINTAIN OR DECREASE HER SPEED WHILE RACING

19.1 A yacht shall not switch on engine after preparatory signal (after flag P has been hoisted) has been given until she has finished or retired.

19.2 All yachts shall listen to VHF channel 09. The race committee shall announce all notices by this channel. The yachts shall not use this channel when communicating with each other.

19.3 Yachts shall have all necessary navigation equipment on board when racing. For example, propellers shouldn’t be removed, anchor and chain should be convenience with the yacht and ready to use, all security facilities should be available.

19.4 Touching a mark, after the preparatory signal has been given, a yacht shall not touch a starting mark before starting, a mark that begins, bounds or ends the leg of the course on which she is sailing or a finishing mark after finishing. Starting and finishing line committee boats are considered as mark.

20. PENALTIES

20.1 After preparatory signal, engines must be stopped. Any use of engine must be reported to the race committee immediately by VHF channel 09 together with the information of the position of the yacht, the reason, the time.

1. The yacht using engine will get %50 (minimum 5 points of her finishing score)
2. A yacht which has been forced to use engine by a give-way yacht to avoid collusion also report to the race committee and lodge a protest to this yacht.
3. If a yacht touches a mark (committee boats placed at the starting and finishing lines, also as a mark will be considered as a mark), she will get %30 (minimum 4 points of her finishing score). However, if a yacht has gained a significant advantage in the race or series by touching the mark, her penalty shall be to retire.
4. If a yacht, when sailing meets an unavoidable danger (a rocky place area) and uses engine to avoid from this stuation shall report to the race committee and will get %20 (minimum 3 points of her finishing score)

20.2 If a give-way yacht failure to keep clear of the right-of-way yacht and forse her to alter course or to use engine will get %50 (minimum 5 points of her finishing score)

20.3 If a yacht has been identified as OCS, shall renew her start within the 30 minutes time after her starting signal without interfering the other yachts. Otherwise she will get %20 (minimum 3 points of her finishing score) or will be scored as DSQ by the protest committee.

21. SCORING

21.1 Each yachts series score shall be her time corrected rank (rank goes from the smallest time to the biggest) after punishment corrections if there is any. The yacht with smallest corrected time will be declared as the winner. When calculating the corrected time, decimal value after the comma will be rounded up if it is bigger than 50.

21.2 Scoring will be done separately for each class.
21.3 RRS Az scoring system will apply. (RRS A4). First yacht gets 1, second yacht gets 2, third yacht gets 3, and fourth yacht gets 4 points. One point is added for every next rank. (RRS A4.1)

21.4 A yacht that did not come to the start line (DNC), a yacht that came to the start line but did not start (DNS, OCS), did not finish (DNF), retired after finishing (RAF) or was disqualified (DSQ, DNE, DGM) shall be scored points for the finishing place one more than the number of yachts entered in the series.

21.5 DISCARDED RACES
a. In this series of race, no score will be discarded up to 3 races and evaluation will be made upon these three races. If four races are made, the worst score will be discarded and the evaluation will be made upon the remaining scores.
b. When a yacht has been penalized under rule 1 (Fair Sailing), this score shall not be excluded.(DNE)


21.6 A yacht that did not start, did not finish, retired after finishing or was disqualified shall be scored points for the number of yachts entered in the series plus 1.

21.7 The yacht with lowest series score wins and others shall be ranked accordingly.

21.8 In this series of race if the scores of yachts are equal;
a. The result will be determined comparing the best scores during the series.
b. If there is still a tie, it will be broken in favour of the yacht that finished before the other one, in the last race that they competed against eachother.

23. PRIZES
Prizes consist of class/category prizes, overall regatta prizes and special prizes.
23.1. BODRUM CUP PRIZES
The Bodrum Cup prizes are the highest awards in the Wooden Yacht Regatta. These awards consist of a Cup and a Regatta pennant that the winner will hold for a year. When the Overall Regatta Trophy winner is determined, the yacht with least points according to the overall finish rank will be considered.
23.1.1. BODRUM CUP MEGA
presented to the yacht with the least penalty points among all yachts competing in Loaded Waterlıne Length (LWL) 21m and over categories of the traditional yacht classification.
23.1.2. BODRUM CUP TRADITIONAL: presented to the yacht with the least penalty points among all yachts competing in Loaded Waterlıne Length (LWL) 20,99m and below categories of the traditional yacht classification.
23.1.3. BODRUM CUP TIRHANDİL: presented to the yacht with the least penalty points among all tırhandil yachts
23.1.4. BODRUM CUP PERFORMANCE RACER: presented to the yacht with the least penalty points among all yachts competing in performance racer yacht classification.
23.2. THE BODRUM CUP REGATTA PENNANT
The Bodrum Cup Regatta Pennant is awarded to the winners of the Bodrum Cups. The yacht winning the Bodrum Cup three times is awarded the permanent possession of the pennant.
23.3. OVERALL PRIZES
23.3.1. BODRUM MUNICIPALITY PRIZE:
Is awarded to the yacht with least points in Traditional Wooden Yachts classification.
23.3.2. FISHERMAN OF HALIKARNAS PRIZE:
This is the special prize of Bodrum Municipality presented to the first yacht with the least penalty points among all yachts in all categories in all classifications eligible for competition.
23.4. CLASS/CATEGORY PRIZES:
Prizes will be awarded to first five yachts of each class/category.
Prizes will be awarded within each category provided that at least six yachts are registered in that category.
23.4.1. BODRUM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRIZE:
Awarded to the first yacht in “Traditional Wooden Yachts Bodrum Cup Mega” category (loaded Waterline Length (LWL) 21m and over) of the traditional yacht classification.
23.4.2. CHAMBER OF SHIPPING PRIZE:
Awarded to the first yacht in “Traditional Wooden Yachts Bodrum Cup Traditional” category (loaded Waterline Length (LWL) 20,99m and below) of the traditional yacht classification.
23.4.3. BODRUM MARINERS ASSOCIATION PRIZE:
Awarded to the first yacht in “Traditional Wooden Yachts Bodrum Cup Tirhandil” category.
23.4.4. ORTAKENT MUNICIPALITY PRIZE:
Awarded to the first yacht in “Bodrum Cup Performance Racer '' classification.
23.4.5. TURGUTREIS MUNICIPALITY PRIZE:
Awarded to the first yacht in “The Bodrum Cup Guest Yachts” classification.
23.4.6. BITEZ MUNICIPALITY PRIZE:
Awarded to the second yacht in “Traditional Wooden Yachts Bodrum Cup Mega” category (loaded Waterline Length (LWL) 21m and over) of the traditional yacht classification.
23.4.7. GUMUSLUK MUNICIPALITY PRIZE:

23.5. COURSE PRIZES
Awarded by sponsors, these prizes are presented to first finishing yachts among traditional wooden yachts and all participating yachts in pre-declared courses.
23.6. SPECIAL PRIZES
23.6.1. 10-YEAR PARTICIPATION PRIZE
This prize will be awarded to all yachts that this year completes 10 years of participation in the Bodrum Cup regatta.
23.6.2. 15-YEAR PARTICIPATION PRIZE
This prize will be awarded to all yachts that this year completes 15 years of participation in the Bodrum Cup regatta.
23.6.3. 20-YEAR PARTICIPATION PRIZE
This prize will be awarded to all yachts that this year completes 20 years of participation in the Bodrum Cup regatta.
23.6.4. SHIPWRIGHT’S PRIZE
A prize will be awarded to every shipwright responsible for the construction of those yachts that place first in their categories.
23.6.5. THE YOUNGEST PARTICIPANT PRIZES
These prizes will be given to the youngest child who takes part in the regatta.
23.6.6. THE BEST DRESSED TEAM & THE FANCIEST DRESSED TEAM PRIZES
A special jury appointed by the organization committee will select the most successful teams of each category.
23.6.7. SHIPBUILDERS ASSOCIATION AWARD
Awarded to the first yacht of Traditional Wooden yachts.
23.6.8. SPONSOR PRIZES
Awards given by the sponsor companies to the successful yachts.

3. DAILY COURSES - START AND FINISH LINES
3.1 Starting Times; First and second days at 11:00, third day at 10:00, fourth day at 12:00 hrs.
3.2 There will be four buoys, two of which are RED and two of which are YELLOW on the start line.
3.3 The participants of XXII. The Bodrum Cup will be separated in two groups; Group A and Group B.
a) Group A:
1-Yachts with LWL of 12,00 meters and below
2-All tirhandil class yachts regardless of LWL.
b) Group B:
Yachts with LWL of 12,01 and above
3.4 Yachts in Group A will start through two YELLOW buoys, yachts in Group B will start through two RED buoys on the start line.
3.5 Both groups will start at the same time with signals given by start committee boat located on the start line.
3.6 The finish line will be the same for both groups.

4. BUOYS THAT WILL BE USED IN START AND FINISH LINES:

Start buoys of each group will be of different colours (YELLOW and RED), spherical or cylindrical. In case the buoys are not placed due to technical reasons, race committee start and finish boats, as well as other boats that carry the “M” code flag can be used as buoys.

5. RACE COMMITTEE BOATS:

Start and finish boats of the race committee, can keep their position on the start and finish lines using their engines due to technical reasons. The committee boat that is used as a buoy can also use its engine.

6. TIME LIMIT:

Time limit for completion of all courses is until 18:00 hrs.

MM PROJE COURSE / GROUP A START LINE 2 (1AS2)(28 NM): The start shall be made in the general W direction between the Kargı Island lighthouse (FI.5s33m8M) and YELLOW buoys, placed in general S direction.

MM PROJE COURSE / GROUP B START LINE 2 (1BS2)(28 NM): The start shall be made in the general W direction between the Kargı Island lighthouse (FI.5s33m8M) and RED buoys, placed in general S direction.
