The Bodrum Cup starts for the 19th time under sponsorship of Tekirdag Rakisi and NTV - NTV Radio. Because of the rain, the opening ceremony was held in Gumbet Sports Center instead of Milta Bodrum Marina. Over 700 guests participated in the opening ceremony.
Ceremony started with a moment of silence and respect for the lost soldiers. Also the young journalist Fatih Urfali which passed away last week was memorized.
Two slideshows from fotograph artists Ali Oz and Gulumser Iscelebi presented amazing pictures from past years' regattas.
After the opening speech of Chairman of the Organization Committee Erman Aras, Bodrum Mayor Mazlum Agan came on stage and wished the participants good winds. Then they rang the traditional bell which symbolizes the start of tomorrow's race.
After the cocktail, Izmir Municipality City Orchestra played greatest songs of jazz, latin, operas, and folk music. Sailing teams could stop themselves dancing on the stage.
Orchestra was leaded by Hüseyin Çebi and vocals including tenor Aydın Ustuk, Sedat Yuce and Bike Baran played at a great performance.
Bodrum Cup will start with Bodrum Yalikavak NTV course on 25th of October.
