First day on the
race (16.10.2005)
Strong wind
surprised the participants. With 18 – 20 Nautical miles wind, only
20 out of 76 participants could finish the Bodrum – Bodrum course.
Some of the challenging boats had to redress due to the damage their
sails had.
“Tartigrat” was
the first finish yacht in The Bodrum Cup class, and “Ilios” in
overall class.
As it was done in
2004, a Circle of Love was in the program of the day. The yachts
would anchor in a circle shape, listening to a concert in the middle.
But the wind did not allow, so the yachts came into the harbour.
Instead, the concert boat run up and down between all the boats in
harbour, playing the best songs of jazz and blues. Despite the cold
weather, sailors were quite cheerful during the concert.
